Job summary

Beach Baker Recruitment is delighted to be instructed on behalf of a well-established property consultancy in the search for a Head of Valuation. Hertfordshire with hybrid working gives the successful candidate a leadership role while staying hands-on in fee-earning valuation work.

The appointed MRICS Senior Valuer will lead and develop the valuation function, manage instructions end-to-end, mentor graduates and maintain strong client and lender relationships.

Qualifications

• MRICS and RICS Registered Valuer status required.
• Proven commercial valuation experience across office, industrial, retail, and development.
• Experience valuing for loan security, acquisitions, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of valuation methodology and reporting standards.
• Experience managing valuation instructions from start to finish.
• Ability to mentor graduates and APC candidates.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of an established valuation team.
• Undertake commercial property valuations and development appraisals across asset classes.
• Manage instructions from enquiry to inspection, reporting and completion.
• Maintain relationships with lenders, clients and professional contacts.
• Oversee workflow, workload allocation and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with RICS Red Book and Valuer Registration.
• Support graduates and junior surveyors in their APC journeys.
• Collaborate with colleagues on valuation-related matters.
