Auto Skills UK is seeking a Valeter & Detailer in Bishop's Stortford to professionally present vehicles after repairs. You will thoroughly clean interiors and exteriors, perform machine and hand polishing, and apply finishing touches to achieve a showroom-quality finish.

VALETER & DETAILER

Location: Bishop's Stortford

Basic Salary: £35,000+ DOE

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm + 1 Saturday (9:00am - 3:00pm) every 6-8 weeks

THE ROLE

As a Valeter & Detailer, you'll be responsible for cleaning, detailing, polishing, and preparing vehicles to an exceptionally high standard, ensuring they are professionally presented before customer collection or handover.

Key responsibilities include:

• Thoroughly cleaning vehicle interiors and exteriors following repairs or workshop activity.
• Carrying out professional machine and hand polishing to remove imperfections and achieve a high-quality finish.
• Polishing and finishing vehicle paintwork to a consistently high standard.
• Carrying out paintwork preparation and finishing, including removing light marks, swirls, and minor imperfections where appropriate.
• Using professional detailing products, polishing compounds, machines, and vehicle cleaning equipment correctly.
• Completing final presentation checks and identifying any areas requiring further attention.
• Working closely with Bodyshop technicians and other workshop colleagues to ensure vehicles are presented correctly following repairs.
• Maintaining detailing equipment, products, tools, and the working area in a clean, safe, and professional condition.

ABOUT YOU

This opportunity would suit an experienced Valeter / Vehicle Detailer / Automotive Detailer / Bodyshop Valeter with strong polishing skills.

Professional polishing ability is essential for this position.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Valeter, Vehicle Detailer, Automotive Detailer, or within a professional Bodyshop environment.
• Proven experience using machine polishers and carrying out professional vehicle polishing.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle cleaning, paintwork preparation, polishing, and finishing techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in achieving a high-quality vehicle finish.
• Experience identifying and correcting minor paintwork imperfections through appropriate polishing techniques.
• The ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistently high presentation standards.
• Strong organisation and the ability to work effectively as part of a professional workshop team.
• A full UK driving licence.
