Job summary

Arnold Clark in Oldbury is seeking an enthusiastic Valeter to ensure our vehicles are presented to the highest standards. The role suits someone who enjoys active, physical work and thrives in a team setting.

Valet experience is preferred but not essential; training can be provided. Arnold Clark operates a Valet Academy for new staff, supporting development and progression within the company.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• High level of attention to detail is required.
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean vehicles externally with a pressure washer.
• Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors.
• Polish/buff bodywork as needed.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures with chemicals.
• Maintain and report any defective equipment or PPE issues.
• Work to set timeframes and targets.
• Use the online diary system to manage vehicle schedules.
• Complete daily records of work performed.
• Support the branch with other duties as required.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5.30pm, Friday 8am - 4.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in sparkling condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has meticulous attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Using an online diary system to manage vehicle schedule
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Valet experience is preferred but not essential, training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
