Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking an enthusiastic Valeter for our Motherwell Motorstore. You will prepare vehicles to the highest standard, both interior and exterior, using specialist equipment.

The role suits someone who enjoys active, physical work and thrives in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Basic computer skills to use shop systems.
• High level of attention to detail for vehicle prep.
• Self-motivation with ability to work in a team.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy workshop environment.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean exteriors with a pressure washer.
• Vacuum and shampoo interiors.
• Polish/buff bodywork using appropriate tools.
• Comply with health and safety procedures with chemicals.
• Report defects and maintain equipment and PPE.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Valeter to join our Motorstore branch in Motherwell.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5.30pm, Friday 8am - 4.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Valeter, you'll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in sparkling condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has meticulous attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers' instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Using an online diary system to manage vehicle schedule
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential Skills

• Full UK driving licence.

Valet experience is preferred but not essential, training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
