Job summary

Fire Defence Servicing Ltd. in North Devon is seeking a Trainee Sprinkler Design Engineer to learn the rules, regulations, products and project specifications, gaining experience on-site and via remote training courses.

Within 2 to 4 years, you’ll become a fully qualified Sprinkler Design Engineer with opportunities to progress within the industry. Salary ranges from £17,000 to £21,000 per annum, with on-site training at the head office.

Qualifications

• Must have maths grade C or above.
• Excellent IT skills with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proven verbal and written English communication skills.
• Track record in finding solutions to problems within deadlines.
• Proven ability to organise self and others.
• Methodical with attention to detail.
• Full driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed plans and sections of sprinkler systems.
• Carry out site surveys.
• Attend design team meetings to coordinate services.
• Produce hydraulic calculations.
• Size sprinkler fire pumps and tanks.
• Request information from internal and external clients.
• Carry out purchase ordering.
• Carry out internal reviews on the project that you may or may not be involved with.

VACANCY – Trainee Sprinkler Design Engineer

Due to planned internal growth we are recruiting a Trainee Design Engineer.

Fire Defence Servicing is a family-run business based in North Devon and specialises in the fire suppression industry throughout the UK.

As a trainee design engineer, you will learn the rules, regulations, products, programmes, sequences, and project specifications while also gaining project experience.

You will gain experience in all areas of the business with training on-site in the head office and via remote training courses.

Within 2 to 4 years, you’ll be a fully qualified Sprinkler Design Engineer. Once trained, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career within the sprinkler industry, with a range of progression routes available.

You will learn the following aspects of sprinkler design:
