Job summary

A leading cultural organization in London is looking for a Digital Preservation Assistant to support the implementation of digital preservation software. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multimedia files and advanced skills in Excel and scripting. This role is key to preserving digital assets long-term and ensuring efficient workflows in the archive.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing multimedia file types.
  • Advanced experience of working with Excel functions and formulae.
  • Experience of windows scripting including Powershell and basic Python scripting.
  • Good digital literacy with the ability to understand and adapt quickly to new platforms.
  • Methodical, accurate, and careful approach with outstanding attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the digital preservation software solution.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate ingest of content into the solution.
  • Establish workflows for digital assets entering the NT Archive.

The National Theatre (NT) is currently recruiting for a Digital Preservation Assistant to support the work of the team in the implementation of the digital preservation software solution, Preservica.

The Preservica project is integral to the preservation of digital assets long-term, and this role will be key to ensuring efficient and accurate ingest of content into the solution as well as the establishment of workflows for digital assets entering the NT Archive in future.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in managing multimedia file types.
  • Advanced experience of working with Excel functions and formulae.
  • Experience of windows scripting including Powershell and basic Python scripting.
  • Good digital literacy with the ability to understand and adapt to a new digital infrastructure or platform quickly.
  • A methodical, accurate and careful approach to their work with outstanding attention to detail.
