Harrogate College is recruiting for a Course Leader for Electrical and Construction Apprenticeships. You will be expected to teach and assess our apprenticeships, creating dynamic, industry-focused content that equips learners with the skills they need to thrive in the real world. You will lead the electrical installation and construction curriculum area, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and you will play a key role in advancing vocational education. What You Will Do
- Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses.
- Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
- Contribute to and participate in the assessment and quality assurance procedures for all programmes/training provision, including Internal Verification to the prescribed standards.
- Ensure that learner reviews, teaching, learning and assessment plans are completed in line with funding rules.
- Provide feedback on students' work and assignments, including marking assignments where relevant, liaising with venues, employers or placement supervisors and providing guidance and support to students.
- Assess and monitor portfolio of students work and ensure completion within agreed deadlines and target date (including electronic).
- Complete assessment paperwork to the required audit standards.
- Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organization developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
Qualifications
- Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE).
- Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject.
- English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.
- Relevant up-to-date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
- Level 3 qualification in sector area.
