Location: Derby, UK (On-site only)
Contract: 12-month contract, Outside IR35
Hours: 40 hours per week (option to condense into a 4-day week)
Rate: £45 per hour
Security Clearance: Must hold, or be eligible for, SC clearance
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Aero Gas Turbine V&V Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation in Derby on a 12-month contract basis (outside IR35).
You’ll be responsible for planning and executing verification and validation (V&V) activities for aero gas turbine engines and associated electrical units, ensuring they meet design, performance and airworthiness requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform verification and validation (V&V) activities for aero gas turbine engines.
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures and reports in line with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct system-level and component-level testing, including functional, performance and environmental tests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, investigate and resolve issues during the V&V process.
- Ensure all V&V activities comply with industry standards, regulations and best practices.
- Prepare and maintain V&V documentation, including test plans, test cases and test reports.
- Support the certification process for electrical units, ensuring compliance with relevant airworthiness standards.
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and project planning activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in verification and validation of aero gas turbine engines.
- Strong knowledge of gas turbine engine systems and components.
- Experience with electrical unit airworthiness certification processes and standards.
- Proficiency with V&V tools, methods and software.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic engineering environment.
- Must hold or be eligible for SC clearance.
