Job description
About OurRitual

At OurRitual, we believe smart, empathetic content is the glue between product and people. As we grow our member and expert experiences, we’re looking for a UX Content Writer who brings voice, clarity, and coherence to every screen, message, and interaction.

You’ll shape how members communicate with our product - making it feel human, supportive, and intuitive. You’ll join a team that values clarity, experimentation, AI‑assisted workflows, and rapid iteration, where content is treated as a core part of the product experience.

What You’ll Do

You’ll own in-product content end to end, from wireframes to launch, helping members feel confident, connected, and understood through clear, purposeful copy.

Areas of Responsibility

Feature Microcopy & UX copy

  • Write and iterate on copy for screens, dialogs, tooltips, empty/error states, button labels, and help text.
  • Ensure clarity, tone, and consistency across features, leveraging generative tools to explore and validate copy variants.
  • Annotate and deliver copy in Figma or via Jira/GitHub with concise rationale; integrate content patterns into the design system where appropriate.
  • QA copy in staging to ensure accuracy, context, and localization readiness.

Onboarding, flows & journeys

  • Map and write onboarding and in-product flows that build understanding and confidence.
  • Craft messaging that reduces friction, clarifies outcomes, and drives activation.
  • Use behavioral data, analytics tools (Amplitude, Buildbetter), and experimentation frameworks to refine flows and messaging.

In-product guidance & education

  • Design and write contextual education: walkthroughs, tooltips, nudges, guides.
  • Partner with Product, Design, AI/ML, and Engineering to embed the right level of support in the right place, including AI‑generated guidance or adaptive flows when appropriate.

CRM & messaging touchpoints

  • Write notifications, in‑app banners, push, and email copy tied to product actions or milestones.
  • Maintain consistent voice and narrative across product + CRM channels.
  • Leverage AI to personalize CRM and messaging touchpoints, using behavioral data to tailor notifications and dynamically segment audiences.
  • Consider AI‑personalized copy variations, integrate with Growth & Data to run A/B and multivariate tests, and iterate based on results.

Content systems & governance

  • Maintain and evolve OurRitual’s style guide, voice, tone, and content standards.
  • Conduct ongoing audits for consistency, tone drift, and localization readiness, including automated auditing tools where useful.
  • Define reusable content patterns for common UI components, integrating with the design system and ensuring i18n/l10n scalability.
  • Help shape AI‑driven content ops (e.g., prompt libraries, generative components, automated content evaluation).

Collaboration & process

  • Work closely with Designers, PMs, Engineers, Data, AI, and Growth teams throughout feature lifecycles.
  • Participate in reviews, planning, and retros; provide content input early in wireframes and prototypes.
  • Partner with analytics and experimentation teams to design and interpret tests, and with AI teams to incorporate prompt design and generative workflows into cross‑functional processes.
  • Encourage use of AI‑assisted writing tools to generate microcopy variants at scale and adapt in real time based on sentiment and behavioral data.
Who You Are

Craft‑Driven & Empathetic

You write with clarity, empathy, and purpose, guiding people, not just labeling buttons.

Collaborative & Cross‑Functional

You partner effectively with Product, Design, Engineering, AI, Data, and Ops teams.

Hands‑On & Action‑Oriented

You’re proactive, take ownership, and enjoy seeing work through from context‑gathering to QA.

A Systems Thinker

You spot patterns, maintain consistency, and design content that scales across platforms, locales, and modalities.

Curious, Data‑Aware & Experimentation‑Oriented

You use analytics, user behavior, and experiments to improve clarity, conversion, and user confidence.

AI‑Forward & Adaptive

You’re comfortable exploring AI tools, generating and validating variants, and working within emerging content ops frameworks.

Experience & Requirements
  • Native‑level English writing and editing skills - must.
  • 3–5 years in UX writing, content design, or product writing.
  • Portfolio showcasing strong in‑product copy (microcopy, onboarding, guidance, error states).
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, user flows, design systems, and UI components.
  • Experience writing directly in Figma or similar tools.
  • Experience collaborating with Data, AI/ML, and Growth teams on experiments (A/B, multivariate, behavioral insights).
  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted writing workflows, prompt design, and generative content tools.
  • Comfort working with analytics platforms (Amplitude, Segment, LaunchDarkly) and interpreting results.
  • Excellent communication skills in cross‑functional settings.
  • Comfort working remotely and asynchronously.

Nice to Have

  • Localization/internationalization experience across multiple languages.
  • Healthtech, wellness, or coaching product experience.
  • CMS or content automation experience.
  • Conversational design, emotion‑driven UX, or multi‑modal content (voice, chat).
