Job summary

The Lanes Group is seeking an experienced UI Designer to shape polished, intuitive interfaces for web and mobile. You will work with UX, Product and Engineering teams to convert user journeys into high-quality designs, prototypes and reusable components.

You will contribute to evolving the design system, ensure accessibility and responsive practices, and collaborate across a fast‑growing technology function with a hybrid Cambridge-based setup.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience as a UI/Product/Digital Designer in a tech environment.
• Advanced experience using Figma for interface design, components and prototyping.
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, colour, spacing and visual hierarchy.
• Experience creating and maintaining design systems and component libraries.
• Good understanding of responsive web and mobile design principles.
• Ability to collaborate with UX, Product and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Translate wireframes, journeys and requirements into polished visual designs.
• Create interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts.

Our client is a fast-growing technology business developing modern digital products for a broad UK and international customer base. As the product and design function expands, they are looking for an experienced UI Designer to help create polished, intuitive and consistent user interfaces across web and mobile products.

The Role

Working closely with UX, Product and Engineering teams, you will take ownership of the visual design of key digital experiences. You will turn user journeys and product requirements into high-quality interfaces, prototypes and reusable components, while helping evolve the wider design system.

Key Responsibilities

• Design high-quality user interfaces for responsive web and mobile products.
• Translate wireframes, user journeys and product requirements into polished visual designs.
• Create interactive prototypes to communicate and test design concepts.
• Develop and maintain reusable components within the company design system.
• Work closely with UX Researchers and Product Managers to incorporate user insight.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
• Apply accessibility, responsive design and usability principles throughout the design process.
• Contribute to visual standards, design reviews and continuous improvement of the product experience.

Skills & Experience

• Commercial experience as a UI Designer, Product Designer or Digital Designer within a technology environment.
• Advanced experience using Figma for interface design, components and prototyping.
