Job summary

Citi is seeking a UX Designer to shape our digital banking experiences. You will perform research, create user journeys, and craft wireframes and high-fidelity designs. Join a team that values accessibility, scalable design systems, and collaboration with product, analytics and engineering.

Hybrid work opportunities are available in the UK. You will mentor juniors, ensure ADA/WCAG compliance, and help deliver impactful interfaces for global users. A solid foundation in HTML/CSS is desirable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Hold meetings with users and sponsors to understand requirements.
  • Perform UX research, define IA, user journeys, and personas.
  • Identify metrics and data to support decision making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, product managers and developers.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Sketch, InVision, Axure, and Adobe suite.
  • Ensure accessibility compliance with ADA/WCAG.
  • Hand over designs to development with complete specifications.
  • Provide ongoing UX support with review checkpoints.
  • Stay up to date with UX practices and tools.
  • Mentor junior team members and enforce design standards.

Responsibilities
  • Hold meetings with users, clients, product sponsors and technology to understand project requirements
  • Perform UX research, define IA, user journeys, and create personas
  • Identify metrics and data that can support decision‑making
  • Work closely with users, stakeholders, business analysts, product managers and development teams to brainstorm and co‑create ideas, approaches, and solutions
  • Perform relevant testing to validate and inform design decisions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs using specialist tools such as Sketch, InVision, Axure, and the Adobe suite
  • Apply a positive and constructive attitude to all feedback
  • Use, and contribute to, the approved design system
  • Adhere to, and improve design standards and best practices
  • Perform detailed handover to development teams, ensuring they have all they need to implement the designs
  • Provide ongoing support to development, with regular UX review checkpoints ensuring quality and spec are as designed
  • Keep up to date with the latest UX practices, innovations, and tools
  • Ensure all designs comply with ADA/WCAG standards for accessibility
  • Deliver on‑time, identifying and managing risks to ensure timelines are met, and escalating where needed
  • Help to train and support junior team members
  • Confidently challenge substandard work by other team members
  • Contribute to the wider UX community of practice and appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications
  • Proven relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail & analytical skills
  • Experience delivering with an agile methodology
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly skilled in professional design tools e.g., Sketch, Figma, AdobeXD, Axure, InVision etc.
  • Experience using design systems
  • Keen interest in, or knowledge of, banking or finance
  • HTML/CSS Development Skills
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
