Job summary

Cambridge Consultants is seeking a design intern to explore product development from concept to manufacture within a multidisciplinary team in Cambridge, UK. The role emphasizes user-centered processes, visual storytelling, and hands-on CAD/3D rendering work across Healthcare, Industrial, and Consumer projects.

You will contribute to graphics, UI concepts, and prototype testing, joining a collaborative studio culture that values curiosity and creative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Excellent academic record in Industrial Design, Product Design or related field.
• Proven ability with graphical presentation tools such as Creative Cloud, sketching and 3D rendering.
• Evidence of CAD tools usage to design attractive, functional, manufacturable products.
• Understanding of human/user-centered design processes.
• Strong storytelling and communication of ideas.
• Flexible collaboration with other disciplines.
• UI/UX design experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out and presenting user research to multidisciplinary teams.
• Leading concept generation and problem-solving workshops.
• Designing graphics and visual communications to improve understanding and engagement.
• Preparing designs from analogue sketches to detailed 3D renders.
• Manufacturing of prototypes hands-on or via suppliers.
• Evaluating ideas and prototypes with user and stakeholder feedback.
