Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced US/UK Tax Manager in Shropshire with hybrid/remote options. You will own client relationships, handle complex tax issues, and contribute to the development of the tax function, delivering a mix of compliance and advisory work.

Ideal candidates have five+ years in tax, ATT/CTA (ACA/ACCA desirable), and strong knowledge of UK/US taxation. You will mentor juniors and help shape service delivery while balancing deadlines and client needs.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in a tax-focused role within an accountancy/public accounting environment.
• Experience managing client portfolios and delivering both compliance and advisory work.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK and/or US taxation and related regulations.
• Experience mentoring junior tax professionals and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex tax returns, compliance work, technical research and advice.
• Provide tailored tax planning advice and identify risks with mitigation strategies.
• Manage relationships with tax authorities, including audits and notices.
• Support clients with tax budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Review work by Tax Consultants and Senior Tax Consultants; mentor and guide staff.
• Collaborate with senior management to shape tax strategy and service offering.
