A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking an Ultrasound Modality Lead Sonographer to manage the Ultrasound department and ensure high-quality patient care across multiple hospital sites. The successful candidate will lead the team, mentor staff, and perform advanced ultrasound procedures. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Uxbridge, offering a competitive salary between £59,490 and £66,239 per annum, plus additional payments.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as an Ultrasound Modality Lead Sonographer. We are recruiting for two Band 8A posts, based across both our Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospital sites. Post holders will be responsible for leading the Ultrasound department and managing its day‑to‑day operations in the absence of senior management.
The successful candidates will have extensive experience across a wide range of ultrasound modalities, including obstetrics, gynaecology, vascular, and non‑obstetric/general medical ultrasound. You will have a proven track record of teaching and mentoring students and staff. The role includes maintaining a clinical workload, performing ultrasound lists at an advanced practitioner level, and making clinical judgements based on the assessment and interpretation of ultrasound findings, including complex cases.
Both post holders will be expected to cross‑cover between obstetric and non‑obstetric services, working collaboratively across the Trust to support consistent, high‑quality patient care in all ultrasound areas.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
