You will perform background research across practice areas, conduct interviews with lawyers and in-house counsel, and help craft insightful editorials that showcase firm strengths. The role requires strong writing, communication, and interview techniques, with careful data logging and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree educated with an interest or experience in conducting research and analysis of the North American market.
• Comfortable speaking on the phone to people from varying backgrounds.
• Strong writing skills, particularly the ability to write clearly and concisely.
• French language skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Background research to understand assigned practice areas and jurisdictions.
• With the support of the Research Manager, determine which lawyers to contact for interview.
• Conduct probing interviews with lawyers, asking open-ended questions.
• Interviewing in-house counsel and other third-party experts by telephone or via online questionnaire.
• Accurately logging communications and assessing progression of research.
• Pursue research leads from Chambers materials or independent sources.
• Build an understanding of key market participants.
• Analyze data to create accurate ranking tables reflecting the market.
• Produce informative editorials for the Chambers website and guides.
