Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in Barnet Hospital is seeking a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult SLT team. You will work in integrated teams to assess and manage adults with speech, language and swallowing disorders, supporting timely decisions and safe patient flow in acute care.

This fixed-term post (until December 2027) focuses on urgent and emergency care pathways, with opportunities to develop skills in FEES and videofluoroscopy, service evaluation and teaching.

Qualifications

• Specialist assessment and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
• Experience in urgent and emergency care pathways preferred.
• Strong organisational skills and clinical reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Support adults presenting through urgent and emergency care pathways with timely assessment.
• Contribute to service evaluation, audits and quality improvement.
• Participate in teaching and training within the Trust.
• Work with multidisciplinary colleagues to optimise patient flow.
