Job summary

Opus Recruitment Solutions Limited seeks an experienced Data Engineer for an on-site 3-month contract in the Oxford area. You will migrate data from MySQL to Google BigQuery, bringing strong PHP/Python scripting and SQL skills to the project. This role requires daily on-site presence, with a 5-day workweek and immediate availability preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior contracting experience on migratory projects.
• Understanding of APIs and Medallion (Bronze, Silver, Gold) Architecture.

Responsibilities

• Provide interim data engineering support for ongoing data migration from MySQL to Google BigQuery.
• Work on-site in Oxfordshire, 5 days per week for the duration of the contract.
• Collaborate with clients to define migration requirements and implement solutions.

URGENT: Contract Data Engineer | Oxford Area Sensitive Data - 5 days On-site Requirment p/w - Essential

I have a short piece of work available for an experienced contractor who's based within commutable distance to Oxford and able to commit to working on-site, 5 days per week.

Rate: £450 - 500 per day (Outside IR35). Duration: 3 months, initally (extension possible). Working Patterns: 5 days on-site per week. Location: Oxfordshire.

Interview Stages: 2 stage (Virtual Screening, next week - followed by final stage F2F in person. Interview slots secured for next week).

The Project: Opus have partnered with a leading manufacturing client who're in need of a Data Engineer with strong scripting knowledge and migration experience to provide interim support for ongoing data migration activity, moving SQL Data (held in MySQL Database) to GCP / BigQuery.

Requirements:

• Must have experience in Google BigQuery migration
• Strong scripting knowledge (most desirable would-be PHP & Python)
• Excellent SQL/MySQL knowledge and project experience.
• Prior contracting experience on migratory projects / programmes of work
• Understanding of API's, and Medallion (Bronze, Silver, Gold) Architecture.

Nice to have:

• GA4 or Klaviyo experience
• Immediate availability - ideally, you'll be locally based.
