Job summary

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Upper GI Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Warrington Hospital team for a fixed-term, 14-month period. The role focuses on providing expert clinical care across the Upper GI cancer pathway, coordinating with local and regional MDTs to support diagnosis, treatment and patient-centred care.

Ideal candidates will be an experienced RGN with a degree, capable of leading others, and delivering high-quality information and education

Qualifications

• RGN, educated to degree level, evidence of ongoing professional development
• Registered Nurse with current UK registration
• Experience in Upper GI cancer pathway is essential
• Experience in leading and training peers within a clinical team

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice, support and education to patients on the Upper GI Cancer pathway from diagnosis to treatment end
• Offer high quality care, information, and support to patients and families; coordinate with MDTs across Trust and external centres
• Guide, supervise and train peers and junior staff
• Ensure strong communication with regional MDTs to maximise quality of care and avoid breaches of cancer pathways
