Milk Education are working on behalf of a partner school in North Tyneside to recruit a Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children's early learning and development in a school-based Nursery, working specifically within the baby room. This is a full-time position starting in January, ideal for someone with strong early years experience and a passion for supporting infants' early development.

The Role

As a Practitioner working with children from 9 months old, you will play a vital role in caring for and supporting the Nursery's youngest children. You will create a safe, loving and engaging environment, ensuring children reach key milestones through sensory play, outdoor adventures and nurturing interactions.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for babies.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities, promoting development in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Encourage outdoor learning and nature-based play, making the most of our outdoor spaces.
  • Be a Key Person for a small group of children, building strong relationships with families.
  • Observe and assess each child's progress, maintaining learning journeys with photographs and observations.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring toys, equipment and spaces are clean and well‑organised.
  • Work collaboratively with your team, supporting and overseeing colleagues, contributing to a positive atmosphere.
  • Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed, prioritising the welfare and safety of children at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed and involved in their child's progress.
What We're Looking For
  • A Level 3 Early Years Qualification (full and relevant).
  • Previous experience in a nursery setting, ideally with babies.
