Job summary

Optima UK INC Ltd is seeking an experienced Conventional Grinder - Universal to join a precision engineering team in Coventry on a permanent day shift. You will set and operate universal grinding machinery to produce components to exacting tolerances.

Experience with Jones & Shipman grinding machines is essential. The role offers Monday to Friday days with excellent overtime opportunities and long-term career stability within a specialist grinding environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Universal Grinder in a precision engineering environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with universal grinding machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using Jones & Shipman grinding machines.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate Universal Grinding machinery to produce precision components.
• Work with Jones & Shipman grinding machines to achieve tolerances.
• Produce components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out cylindrical, internal and external grinding where required.
• Read and interpret detailed drawings and specs.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment.
