The Finance Team plays a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring the effective management, and supporting the organisation’s wider objectives.

The team is focused on enhancing business processes, improving reporting capabilities, and supporting data-driven decision making across the organisation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Unit4 Systems Accountant to join our client’s finance team. This is a key role responsible for maintaining, developing and optimising the organisation’s finance system. The postholder will ensure the system operates effectively, supports accurate financial management, and contributes to continual process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain the finance system, including user access, workflow management, chart of accounts, attributes and relationships.
  • Manage and respond to helpdesk queries, providing technical support and allocating tickets appropriately within the team.
  • Act as the main contact for external system and support providers.
  • Lead testing activities for system updates, integrations and developments.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure stability and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain a library of standard financial and management reports.
  • Manage system development priorities in line with organisational needs.
  • Identify and address training needs within the finance team and wider organisation, preparing training materials and delivering sessions where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all systems and processes comply with legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements, including VAT and data protection.
  • Promote and model our shared values and inclusive practices in all aspects of work.

  • Recently qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of Unit4.
