Highland Hospital, a 261 bed community teaching hospital and affiliate of the University of Rochester Medical Center, is seeking an experienced Unit Secretary to join our Intensive Care Unit for day and evening shifts. The ICU is a specialized adult medical and surgical care facility for patients who need constant monitoring, intensive nursing care, and complex respiratory support. Typical patient conditions include stroke, sepsis, post‑operative issues, infectious diseases, and organ failure.

Responsibilities

To support patient care and provide clerical, environmental, and customer service support for the unit.

Pay Range

$18.89 - $24.54

Job Requirements
  • Education: GED or HS diploma required. A.A.S. Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years clerical experience; preferably hospital-based.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills. Medical terminology. Advanced computer skills including data entry, Microsoft Office applications to include Word and Excel, and the capacity to learn other applications such as electronic medical records and admission, discharge, transfer systems.
