Wise May is recruiting for a data orientated Underwriting Technician to join an MGA to support the operations function in providing support to their Underwriting and Finance teams.

This is a full time, permanent position with hybrid working (4 days in the office and 1 day remote).

Underwriting Technician duties and responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day operational and technical support to the Underwriting and Finance teams.
  • Contribute to the production and development of Management Information to provide insights to facilitate theaccurate monitoring of premiums.
  • Assisting with regulatory returns.
  • Support the enhancement of policy data quality.
  • The provision of reports to senior stakeholders, committees and the Board.
DUA Assistant key skills and experience required
  • Experience working in the Lloyd's Market, with an understanding of Syndicate underwriting models and reporting.
  • Knowledgeof the full insurance lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis and MI reporting.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to review and interpret data accurately.
  • Able to work in and contribute to the team.
  • A good communicator, with the ability to act in a professional manner.
  • Able to manage and take responsibility for own workload, seeking assistance where required.
  • Effective relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, confident in engaging with colleagues across different business departments.
