Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee The purpose of this role is to lead the Delegated and QPS Operations team, ensuring exceptional, accurate, and timely service delivery for relevant Underwriting teams. The role involves partnering with Underwriting teams and other functions to drive improvements in technical capability, operational efficiency, and service through continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.

Underwriting Operations Manager – Delegated & QBE Portfolio Solutions

Location and Type: London, Full-Time

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Underwriting Operations Manager to lead our Delegated and QBE Portfolio Solutions (QPS) Operations team. This newly created role is designed for a strategic thinker and operational leader who thrives on delivering exceptional service, driving continuous improvement and partnering across functions to elevate underwriting performance.

Your New Role

You will play a key role in shaping the future of our delegated authority operations and be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and high-quality service delivery to our underwriting teams.

Responsibilities
  • Direct, motivate, develop, coach and manage the Underwriting Operations team including recruitment of additional headcount as part of our growth plans
  • Support and maintain a culture of continuous process improvement in your team and amongst the wider DUA community
  • Maintain oversight of service delivery and use root cause analysis to identify any service underperformance
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to establish service delivery standards and an effective monitoring framework
  • Act as the key point of contact on all operational issues for all Product Directors and Portfolio Managers across your remit
  • Lead Change delivery and participate in modernisation initiatives related to delegated business
  • Triage and prioritise improvements within the context of the wider Operations and Underwriting strategy, and drive process consistency across the Insurance Division
  • Liaise with Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) counterparts to resolve queries and manage workloads and take ownership of performance monitoring of GSSC within your remit
  • Build an understanding of operational processes for your product area in overseas offices and work with Operations Managers to drive consistency
  • Own London Market processes and systems used within your remit, collaborating with stakeholders in Technology, Underwriting & DUA Management
About You
  • Extensive experience in Underwriting Operations and a strong background within delegated authority
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of recruiting, managing, coaching and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of London Market systems and processes, and the ability to drive consistency across geographies and product lines
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Change management and transformation experience with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with global service centres and experience managing offshore operational relationships and performance is desirable
