Job summary

Edenbrook Ltd. is seeking an Underwriting Manager (12 Month FTC) in London to oversee reporting, governance, and analytics within a Lloyd’s syndicate environment. You will lead a team of analysts, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage the year-end audit process.

The role requires 5+ years in the Lloyd’s market or insurance, strong underwriting controls knowledge, and hands-on proficiency with Excel and visualization tools such as Power BI; SQL knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience within the Lloyd’s market or insurance sector.
• Proven experience in underwriting oversight, reporting, or portfolio management
• Line management experience with the ability to lead and develop teams
• Strong understanding of underwriting controls, governance, and regulatory requirements
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar data visualisation tools; knowledge of SQL is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Oversee the production of internal and external underwriting reports, ensuring all regulatory returns are accurate and delivered on time
• Manage and develop analysts within the Underwriting Management team
• Ensure underwriting controls and policy documentation remain effective and compliant with evolving regulations
• Take ownership of the year-end audit process, liaising with auditors and resolving queries efficiently
• Drive continuous improvement across underwriting processes, reporting, and controls
• Support strategic projects to enhance underwriting capabilities, insights, and analytics
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure data integrity, performance tracking, and regulatory compliance
• Contribute to performance management, governance, and analytics initiatives across the underwriting function
