Job summary

慨正橡扯 is seeking a Casualty Underwriter based in Bristol to join their reputable regional underwriting team. In this role, you will focus on underwriting Casualty and Property business and developing specialist Contractors Combined DUA facilities while building strong relationships with clients.

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in underwriting commercial lines, effective communication skills, and an understanding of market trends. This position offers hybrid working and various benefits including 30 days holiday and a 10% pension contribution.

  • Proven experience underwriting commercial lines, especially Contractors Combined and Casualty.
  • A good grasp of market trends affecting these classes.
  • Skilled in building relationships, with excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite business in line with the plan and delegated authority.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and underwriting standards.
  • Manage reinsurance requirements to support business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Review portfolio performance and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct audits of cover holder files and systems.
  • Collaborate across teams to share strategy and best practice.
  • Champion QBE’s value as a consistent and innovative risk partner.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver customer-focused solutions.

The Opportunity

We are hiring for a Casualty Underwriter to join our established and well-respected regional underwriting team based in Bristol, covering UK based clients.

In this role, you will focus on growing our successful specialist Contractors Combined DUA facilities and open market business whilst underwriting Casualty and Property business across a broad range of sectors.
