A leading defense technology company in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking an Undergraduate Submarines Human Factors Engineer for a 12-month contract. Job Title: Undergraduate Submarines Human Factors Engineer

Location: Barrow (Cumbria)

We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 5 days per week.

Salary: £24,300

Responsibilities
  • Analysing and assessing workload and situation awareness to optimise operator performance through design.
  • Planning and conducting user trials to assess developing design and optimise user interaction.
  • Developing and analysing Human Computer Interaction (HCI).
  • Assessing Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Using measurements about the human body (anthropometry) when assessing spatial layout design, including working with 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, immersive VR, and full scale mock-ups.
  • Providing human reliability analysis and human factors support to safety cases.

Qualification requirements

As a minimum requirement you\'ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Design or a related STEM subject.
