Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry is seeking a Radiology Assistant to join the ultrasound departments across multiple sites. You will support patients and clinical staff, assisting with imaging and patient care during examinations.

The role requires flexibility to cover a 7-day rota, with duties including room clearance, stock control, and coordination with radiologists, sonographers and nurses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in care or working towards evidence of significant patient care.
• Willingness to undertake NVQ Level 3

Responsibilities

• Assist patients before, during and after imaging examinations, maintaining clear communication with patients to support confidence.
• Observe and care for patients while waiting for examinations and report concerns to trained staff as appropriate.
• Check patient identification and documentation per departmental protocols.
• Assist Radiologists, sonographers, registrars and Nurses in performing examinations.
• Coordinate workflow and support facilities within specialised areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control standards.
• Participate in the Out of Hours rosters to support 7-day service delivery.
• Facilitate communication with patients, relatives, staff and external users.
• Assist with induction of newly staff and manage in-house stock movements.
