Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland seeks a Manager to join the Indirect Tax team, focusing on UK VAT. Based primarily in Belfast (Dublin considered for the right candidate), you will manage UK VAT advisory and compliance projects for a diverse client portfolio.

The role involves leading complex VAT matters, HMRC compliance, and mentoring junior team members while working closely with Directors and Partners to deliver high-quality advisory services.

Qualifications

• CTA/ATT/ACA/ACCA or equivalent with 5-8 years UK VAT experience.
• Strong technical UK VAT expertise including advisory and HMRC compliance.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver commercial VAT solutions.
• Mentoring junior team members and leading multiple engagements.
• Right to work in the UK or Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Manage UK VAT advisory, compliance and due diligence engagements for diverse clients.
• Advise on cross-border VAT matters and place of supply issues.
• Lead HMRC compliance activities, VAT returns and MT Digital requirements.
• Build client relationships and support business development with Partners.
• Coach and review junior team members in Belfast Indirect Tax team.
