Job summary

Metlen Energy & Metals is seeking a Project Planner to support the M Renewables Division across the United Kingdom. The role focuses on developing, maintaining and optimizing schedules for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects within the EPC lifecycle.

You will report to the Project Controls Manager and collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and Cost Controllers. We value hands-on experience in schedule validation, scenario analysis, and progress reporting, plus strong MS Project skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in project planning or controls within construction or energy.
• Strong MS Project and Primavera P6 experience.
• Experience with schedule validation, scenario analysis, and progress reporting.
• Familiar with EPC lifecycle and construction sequencing.
• Experience creating S-curves, dashboards, and performance reports.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across disciplines.
• Experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules across EPC phases.
• Establish baselines, perform critical path analysis, float management, schedule validation.
• Conduct scenario analyses to assess risks and mitigation options.
• Lead project controls across multiple projects: progress tracking, forecasting, portfolio reporting.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports with narratives, KPIs, dashboards for clients.
• Coordinate with PMs, Engineers, Cost Controllers on programme, cost, resources.
• Review subcontractor schedules and integrate into master programme.
• Monitor performance vs baseline; identify deviations; recommend corrective actions.
• Support tender phases by developing schedules and contributing to bid evaluations.
• Maintain records of schedule updates and impacts for audit readiness.
• Assist in resource planning and optimization.
