Job summary

Waymo UK is seeking a senior operational leader to build and scale the UK entity, reporting to the Director of Operations, Head of Europe Operations. You will drive the UK road map, align with global objectives, and influence product and safety integration.

Responsibilities include leading market entry, ensuring operational readiness, managing safety standards, partner governance, and budget oversight while mentoring leadership talent.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior operational leadership in transportation or related field.
• Track record of launching and scaling UK operations.
• Experience managing safety-critical environments and navigating regulatory landscapes.
• Ability to define KPIs and establish governance structures.
• Experience bridging engineering and field teams.
• Strong P&L and budgeting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Defines and drives UK operational road map aligned with global expansion.
• Holds end-to-end accountability for regional safety standards and service reliability.
• Leads launch-to-scale lifecycle for UK market entry.
• Manages vendor performance, governance, and regulatory liaison.
• Bridges regional operations with global product, engineering, and safety teams.
• Oversees budgets, cost control, and leadership development.
