The UK Legislation Content Specialist is a regional subject matter expert supporting multiple legislative content projects within Global Editorial Operations. This role ensures that legislative data is accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with user needs and global product strategy. You will oversee end-to-end editorial workflows, partner closely with Technology and Product teams, contribute to CMS and tooling requirements, and support the integration of AI and automation across legislative processes. You will also play a key role in shaping content strategy for UK jurisdictions and driving continuous improvement in coverage and quality.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary expert for legislation in the UK and Ireland and stay informed on global legislative practices.
- Advise project teams on authoritative sources, acquisition approaches, update frequency, completeness, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Define content acquisition needs and ensure reliable, high-quality source coverage and produce accurate estimates for acquisition, conversion, enhancement, QA, and publication tasks.
- Provide guidance on conversion rules, data models, versioning, and publication workflows to meet product and user requirements.
- Develop content strategies for each UK jurisdiction based on customer needs and business priorities.
- Identify opportunities to expand or enhance legislative coverage.
- Translate editorial and legislative needs into clear backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead the definition of editorial requirements for CMSs, tools, data structures, metadata, and versioning rules.
- Identify risks, constraints, and dependencies, communicating clearly to project teams and stakeholders.
- Partner with Technology, Product, and GTO teams to optimise tools and workflows, ensuring scalability and automation readiness, test new tools and enhancements, providing structured feedback.
- Support multiple concurrent projects while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to global editorial standards.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate with PMs, BAs, engineers, QA, and other contributors and coordinate dependencies and align workflows from acquisition through publication.
- Work closely with teams across Editorial, Product, Technology, Commercial, and regional leadership to remove blockers and support delivery.
Qualifications
- Degree in law or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience.
- 5+ years' experience in legal research, editorial work, content management, or legislative/regulatory analysis.
- Familiarity with agile ways of working; experience leading or contributing to agile ceremonies is a plus.
- Practical experience using AI tools or working with AI-supported workflows.
- Strong understanding of UK legislative frameworks; knowledge of additional jurisdictions is helpful but not required.
- Ability to analyse complex legislative material and communicate it clearly.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills and highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing shifting priorities.
- Project management experience (Agile/Scrum) is an advantage.
- Full-time hybrid role with occasional collaboration across time zones and some travel may be required for key meetings or training.
