Job summary

Red Hat Consulting in the United Kingdom seeks an Infrastructure Consultant to design and deliver high-performance, secure infrastructure solutions for public sector customers, leveraging OpenShift, Linux administration and cloud technologies. You will work on-site (100%), translate complex requirements into scalable architectures, apply IaC with Ansible/Terraform, and collaborate with project teams to drive secure outcomes.

Active UK defence clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• Active, highest-level UK defence security clearance is essential.
• Experience of Linux system administration (RHEL preferred).
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation technologies, particularly Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., RHEV/oVirt, VMware) in large-scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical consultant and subject matter expert on-site, translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure architectures.
• Combine technical knowledge and business understanding to create solutions for our customers
• Assist with project related activities (both technical and non)
• Find solutions that will benefit customers and create new opportunities for Red Hat
• Act as a trusted advisor to the client, and assist the project of technical managers in setting and delivering on expectations
• Work closely with colleagues in a collaborative team environment, providing and sharing knowledge; build and maintain strong relationships with your colleagues and our customers
• Stay at the forefront of technology, evaluating emerging trends and applying new Red Hat solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
