Job summary

NHV Group offers an Apprentice Mechanic role designed to train individuals in rotary aircraft maintenance engineering. You will work with licensed engineers, learn from experienced mentors, and perform supervised maintenance tasks on helicopters to industry standards.

Applicants should be 18+, legally allowed to work in the UK, possess 4 GCSEs including English and Maths, and be able to obtain a DBS certificate. Great teamwork and a proactive learning attitude are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Must have the unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
  • Must have 4 GCSEs/National 5s, including English and Mathematics at grade C or above.
  • Must be able to obtain a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland or DBS certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the instructions given by your supervisor and licensed engineers and mechanics on site.
  • Carry out aircraft maintenance tasks under supervision.
  • Work collaboratively within the maintenance department, and with other departments when required.
  • Prepare for aircraft maintenance activity.
  • Reinstate the work area on completion of maintenance activity.
  • Basic tasks in Line Maintenance, in compliance with regulations: refueling, towing, baggage loading and other line activities.
  • Ensure maintenance is completed within the required timescales to provide a serviceable aircraft.
  • Complete aircraft documentation for maintenance work.
  • Assist licensed engineers in troubleshooting.
  • Inform stakeholders of maintenance work status (engineers, supervisors, colleagues, contractors, customers).
  • Comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance on helicopters meets UK CAA and MOE standards.
  • Coordinate with NHV Supply Chain to have necessary materials and parts on site.
