UI/UX Subject Matter Expert

• Daily Rate Inside IR35
• Location: London
• Job Type: Contract (until end of March 2026), Hybrid (2 days a week in office)

We are seeking a UI/UX Subject Matter Expert to lead the strategic direction of user experience and interface design across a multi-system environment. This pivotal role focuses on shaping how complex operational data is presented in a simple, intuitive way to end users, optimising a unified UI for Decision Optimisation (DO).

Day-to-day of the role

• Serve as the primary expert on UI/UX strategy, design systems, and user-centred design principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement a unified UI that integrates multiple backend systems.
• Translate complex data and workflows into simple, elegant user interfaces.
• Provide hands‑on design support where necessary, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual design assets.
• Evaluate and improve existing interfaces based on user feedback, analytics, and usability testing.
• Advocate for accessibility, responsive design, and consistency across platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating both strategic and hands‑on capabilities.
• Expertise in design systems, interaction design, and information architecture.
• Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Experience working in complex environments with multiple systems and data sources.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
• Desirable: Experience in operational or logistics environments, knowledge of Decision Optimisation or similar analytical platforms, and familiarity with front‑end development principles (HTML/CSS/JS).
