Job summary

Valarian Technologies seeks a frontend-focused engineer to design, build, and maintain mission-critical user interfaces for Acra, bridging React/TypeScript web dashboards with native iOS/Android components.

You will own front-end systems end-to-end, shaping architecture, state management, and secure local storage, while collaborating with product, design, and security experts in a hybrid London setting.

Qualifications

• Strong professional engineering experience building production-grade web applications with modern React and TypeScript (frontend).
• Solid native mobile development experience with Swift (iOS) or Kotlin/Android (Android).
• Deep understanding of UI architecture, state management, and responsive design systems.
• Experience consuming, designing, and optimizing APIs (REST, WebSockets, GraphQL) for performance and intermittent connectivity.
• Familiarity with client-side security fundamentals and secure storage practices.
• End-to-end ownership from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Disciplined automated testing using Jest, React Testing Library, XCTest/Espresso, Playwright/Cypress.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build high-performance, accessible UI across React/TypeScript and mobile clients.
• Own client applications from design through testing, deployment, and production operations.
• Integrate complex APIs and ensure real-time data handling with offline support.
• Develop a scalable design system ensuring consistency and accessibility.
• Address security concerns: token handling, encryption, and zero-trust basics.
• Collaborate with product, UX, backend, and security teams to translate requirements into interfaces.
• Establish frontend testing best practices and contribute to code quality reviews.
• Promote engineering standards with clean design reviews and documentation.
