UHP Jetting Operative/Yard Operative (Job ID:1927)

NORM Solutions is a wholly owned ASCO company which specialises in the decontamination of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM).

This role presents an exciting opportunity to develop a career with ASCO/NORM Solutions at a key point where the focus is on upskilling personnel and introducing innovative technological solutions to enhance the productivity and service offering to our client base, at a time where decommissioning activities are actively growing.

This is part of a small close‑knot team which reports to the Operations Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to safely clean NORM contaminated equipment in line with relevant legislation, Company procedures and manufacturer's guidelines.

We would also consider a trainee for this position. The role operates on a 9‑day fortnight, giving every second Friday off.

Responsibilities
  • Ultra High‑Pressure Jetting of offshore equipment and operating the automated tubular process.
  • Forklift operations: loading, unloading and transferring equipment.
  • Stripping down materials and reducing them in size to facilitate cleaning (includes valves and other oil and gas equipment).
  • Maintaining an accurate, auditable record of activities, both documented and computerised.
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Always maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of customer service, processes and cost effectiveness.
  • Continuously engaging in the pro‑active HSSEQ culture, ensuring full participation and compliance.
  • Proactively assisting colleagues and undertaking ad hoc duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Counterbalance Forklift
  • Abrasive Wheels / HAV Certification
Desirable Qualifications / Competencies
  • Minimum Industry Safety Training Standard (MIST)
  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
  • Multi‑directional Forklift (5 Tonnes)
  • Experience of oil and gas industry

This role will be ideally suited to a safety focused individual who has some mechanical aptitude and previous experience in UHP Water Jetting, who is seeking the opportunity to develop and progress within the company.

Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything we do at ASCO, this includes wearing the appropriate PPE. It is a requirement to be clean shaven whilst wearing protective respirator masks during jetting operations.
