Teacher of GCSE Film Studies and GCSE Creative i-Media

32 1/2 hours per week term time only. M1-UPS3.

Do you have the motivation and skills to work with young people with complex needs including mental health, illness, autism and ADHD to overcome the challenges they face and enable them to ‘achieve their potential?

Shepwell Short Stay School is a progressive and vibrant learning community that focuses on raising the aspirations and potential of every pupil at the school. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher to introduce Film Studies and Creative i-media to the wealth of GCSE options we offer to our young people.

We are looking at WJEC Eduqas board for Film Studies and OCR Cambridge Nationals for Creative i-Media being the exam boards of preference.

As these subjects are brand new so the ideal candidate will be able to bring their creative flair to the development of the curriculum and involve the leadership team as well as the young people in the introduction of the subjects.

In addition to these subjects we are also looking for someone to work with our ICT team to support the modernisation and development of the existing curriculum and to also work with the Arts Awards team to see how all curriculum areas can complement one another.

Shepwell School is over 2 sites now with a satellite for 30 pupils being based at Shelfield Ormiston Academy and there may be some requirement to work at this setting should pupils wish to pursue these exciting courses.

  • Excellent organisational skills to plan the curriculum and meet the desired learning goals and outcomes.
  • A commitment to a positive culture and the desire to go above and beyond for our students.
  • The ability to use appropriate programmes such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Video Editing software.
