Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Wigan is seeking a dedicated tutor to support vulnerable, disengaged learners through 1:1 tailored lessons that bridge gaps in KS3 and KS4. You will plan, deliver and adapt sessions in the pupil's home or community setting, aiming to boost engagement and attainment.

The ideal candidate holds QTS or tutoring experience, with UK classroom exposure preferred. You will be patient, creative and capable of working with SEND pupils, with the ability to manage flexible part-time

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience.
• UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential.
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box.
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and adapt 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge KS3/KS4 gaps.
• Assess progress and adjust strategies to boost attainment.
• Deliver lessons in pupil's home or community setting.
• Support vulnerable learners and engage them in learning.

You will be making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable, disengaged and at-risk young people. The successful tutor must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in KS3 or KS4 pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels.

It is Prospero's mission to raise the standard of support given to vulnerable young people throughout the UK. As such, we are looking for a passionate, creative and holistic tutor, eager to provide academic support and guidance to students in a one-on-one or small-group setting, improving their educational journey.

Experience, Training and Qualifications of the English, Maths and Science Tutor:

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience
• Possess UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

To be eligible for this role, the potential Tutor must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references.
