Overview

Calling all fabricator welders and engineers! Are you a professional fabricator welder, or engineer with fabrication/welding experience, or fabrication & welding / engineering tutor, and looking for a new challenge? Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding role where you could be developing the skills, knowledge and professional behaviours of our future workforce of fabrication & welding engineers?

Responsibilities
  • Deliver teaching across Level 2 & 3 programmes including apprenticeship standards.
  • Share knowledge, skills and experience with students and apprentices.
  • Develop the skills, knowledge and professional behaviours of future engineers.
  • Lead projects/programmes.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of HND in a relevant Engineering discipline, or relevant fabrication & welding industry standard qualifications and experience at Level 3 as a minimum.
  • Recognised teaching qualification and assessor/IQA awards desirable, or willingness to work towards these with funding support from the College.
  • Recent experience within the fabrication / welding sector a significant advantage.

Each year we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher‑level students studying with us. Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways. Salary and Benefits

Salary: Up to £43,408 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications).

  • 57 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures).
  • Generous Occupational Pension Scheme.
  • Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) – worth up to ££7,000 over two years.
