About the Role

You will work one-on‑one with a child who has ASD, helping them build their skills in both Maths and English. Your role will be to provide consistent, patient, and structured support tailored to the child's individual learning needs, making lessons engaging and accessible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 2 hours of tutoring per day, focusing on Maths and English, ensuring that sessions are tailored to the child's unique learning style.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to support the child in areas where they may struggle.
  • Develop a positive, encouraging, and structured learning environment to support the child's progress and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the child's parents or guardians to track progress and adjust learning strategies as needed.
  • Incorporate any sensory or learning preferences into the sessions to make the experience as comfortable and effective as possible for the child.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with ASD and an understanding of their unique learning needs.
  • A strong background in teaching or tutoring Maths and English at primary school level.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a calm, supportive environment.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a passion for making a difference in a child's learning journey.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
