Here at Smart Education we support various teams within the local authority and provide tuition to learners with various needs until a permanent solution has been found. We are looking for experienced teachers or education professionals who are looking to support learners from home. This is very suited to those who have retired or stepped away from teaching but miss it and want to feel the value of one‑to‑one teaching with a learner that will truly value it!

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Work in a home setting (family home or residential setting for LAC), providing 1:1 tutoring to students from various backgrounds and differentiating needs; students ages range from key stage 1 to further education.
• Develop personalised learning strategies for students who are out of mainstream education.
• Employ a creative and versatile teaching style with Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS / PGCE) and subject specialism or extensive tuition experience supporting English, Maths and/or Science.
• Have experience, knowledge and understanding of working with children/young people with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH).
• Have experience, knowledge and understanding of working with disengaged young people or looked after children.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to acquire one.
