Job summary

Your passion for development, community and leadership is invaluable as we work towards growing our small, grassroots charity. Services include peer supported self‑help groups for those with clutter and hoarding issues, and advocating for better understanding for those affected by clutter.

About Our Volunteers

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. As an experienced leader on our board, you will play a vital role in helping us create safe, welcoming communities where people can connect, share, and feel understood.

Our Clutter Chat community shares lived experience of clutter and hoarding. Members have faced difficult emotions and spiralling clutter, triggered by diverse factors including mental and physical health and mobility, executive function, emotional challenges, bereavement, and family involvement.

Structured consultations during this and last year’s Showcase events, attended by 55 stakeholders, gathered views and future ideas. Our current growth plans directly respond to community feedback and organisational needs.

Our small volunteer Board seeks growth‑focused, hands‑on Trustees who understand Clutter Chat’s vision for a Scotland that values everybody’s contribution and worth.

Requirements

Hybrid

Remote and on‑site participation will be required.

• Build strong foundations in our organisational structures and processes, policies and resources.
• Embed appropriate policies and procedures, enhance volunteer opportunities, build sustainable income, and refresh services and partnerships.
• Grow our capacity, broaden our reach, and assist in the step‑change in how our small charity functions and grows.
