Job summary

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting a Trust Specialist Registrar (ST3-ST7) in Cardiology to develop skills in a busy cardiology service across Northwick Park and Ealing Hospital. You will work under direct consultant supervision with opportunities to train in angiography, cardiac CT/MRI, echocardiography and stress echocardiography TOE.

Interviews are scheduled for 6 November 2026. Prior UK experience and full GMC registration with MRCP are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior UK experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Essential GMC registration and postgraduate qualifications (MRCP).
• UK cardiology training pathways or equivalent considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients admitted to the Cardiology department under supervision of a consultant.
• Develop skills in coronary angiography, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, echocardiography and stress echocardiography TOE.
• Participate in outpatient activities and one-stop pathways for comprehensive assessment and MDT follow-up.
• Opportunity to develop specialist interests such as Heart Failure.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the cardiology team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking to recruit Trust Specialist Registrar (ST3-ST7) who is seeking development of their skills and knowledge in Cardiology. Cross site working is expected. Northwick Park has a busy 43 bedded cardiology ward inclusive of an 8 bedded coronary care unit. The ward includes a chest pain assessment service for patients admitted through the Emergency Department. This will include liaison with the specialist nursing team who make the initial assessment of the patients on the Acute Assessment Unit and their prioritisation for either stress-echo or angiogram. Ealing Hospital has a dedicated cardiology ward, a cardiac catheter lab and an innovative heart failure service currently being piloted. Interviews: 6th November 2026 The appointee will generally be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients admitted to the Cardiology department under direct supervision of a consultant. There is an opportunity to train and gain experience in coronary angiography, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, echocardiography and stress echocardiography TOE. It will also give you the opportunity to get involved in outpatient activities, which include sessions in one-stop pathways where patients undergo a comprehensive assessment, a multi-disciplinary approach to managing care and follow-up in one session. There will also be the opportunity to develop specialist interests such as Heart Failure. Prior UK experience, MBBS (or equivalent), MRCP and full registration with GMC are essential.
