Job summary

Matthew Clark Ltd is seeking a delivery driver to run daily routes to satellite depots, handling pre-picked goods for the drays. You will help load/unload, inspect vehicles, and ensure health and safety compliance at all times.

Candidates must hold an HGV Class 1 licence (≤6 points), be physically capable of heavy lifting, and be a reliable team player within a growing drinks distribution business.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence (maximum 6 points).
• Be organized and able to work as part of a small depot team.
• Capable of heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Comply with tachograph rules and health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily to satellite depots with pre-picked goods for delivery drays.
• Keep vehicles in good order and perform daily inspections as per SOPs.
• Ensure full compliance with tachograph legislation for Digi and Analogue systems.
• Assist with loading/unloading and follow depot working practices and safety guidelines.
• Return empty containers and undelivered goods for inspection and re-routing.
• Keep the vehicle roadworthy and report any defects daily.
• Comply with road traffic acts, EC regulations and working hours rules.
• Adhere to all training guidelines.

What you'll do

You'll be delivering pre-picked goods for the delivery drays to our satellite depots on a daily basis. As you'll be working as part of a small team to cover your routine route, it's important to keep the vehicle in good order, carrying out regular inspections and reporting any defects. You'll be advising and assisting with the loading and unloading of the vehicle when required, ensuring all empty containers are returned back to the depot and any undelivered good are returned for re-routing.,

• + Deliver daily to satellite depot, pre-picked goods for the delivery drays.
• + Keep vehicles in good order and to carry out daily vehicle inspections as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• + Ensure full compliance with Tachograph legislation for both Digi and Analogue equipped vehicles.
• + Advise and assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles according to depot working practices and to conform to health & safety requirements.
• + Ensure that all empty containers are returned back to the depot, also all goods that have not been delivered are returned for inspection & re-routing.
• + Ensure that the vehicle is maintained in a roadworthy condition & all defects are reported daily.
• + Comply (when driving on Company business) with all relevant road traffic acts and EC regulations currently in force, and applicable working hours regulations.
• + Comply with all health & safety requirements including use of PPE at all times.
• + Adhere to all training guidelines

Other than a HGV Class 1 license with no more than 6 points you must be organized and fit enough for heavy lifting as the role can be quite manual. You'll need to be a team player ready to help out at the depot and been keen to be part of a growing and exciting business.
