Qualifications

  • Proven track record in SEND complaints and tribunal processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Ability to manage complex casework independently and to deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a local authority or similar setting.

  • Supporting the resolution of complex complaints in line with statutory guidance.

Tribunal and Complaints Officer – SEND

Location: Liverpool

Hours: 35 hours per week

Rate: £55.16 per hour

Working Pattern: Hybrid working – 1 day per week on site

Contract: Interim / short-term assignment

Reducing the number of SEND complaints and tribunals is a corporate priority. We are seeking an experienced Tribunal and Complaints Officer to provide interim, specialist support to help clear a backlog of complaints and tribunal cases within SEND.

This role is a short-term interim post, providing additional capacity and expertise. It is not anticipated to become a long-term or permanent position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and progressing SEND complaints and tribunal cases
  • Supporting the resolution of complex complaints in line with statutory guidance
  • Preparing documentation and evidence for tribunal proceedings
  • Working closely with internal teams, legal services and external partners
  • Contributing to the reduction of complaint and tribunal backlogs
