The Cancer research clinical trials unit (CRCTU) is one of only seven trials units funded by Cancer Research UK. CRCTU is involved in the design and delivery of clinical trials (cancer and non-cancer) across all phases, sizes and locations. With our innovative design approach, we maximise outcomes from single studies or small patient groups, in cancer and beyond.
The CRCTU team, part of the College of Medicine & Health, Research Office, is a vibrant hub for clinical trial staff (around 200 staff) supporting high-value, strategically important projects and programmes. The unit works closely with both Professional Services colleagues and Academics across the University and partner organisations, particularly NHS colleagues, to maximise the impact of funded research, much of which has direct patient relevance. The portfolio of research supported is wide ranging (https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/centres-institutes/cancer-research-uk-clinical-trials-unit) including both cancer and non-cancer clinical trials.
We are seeking an ambitious individual to join the CRCTU trial management team as a Trial Coordinator. A Trial Coordinator is an integral member of the unit and trial management group associated with one or more clinical trials. You will be working as part of an inclusive, supportive team, both with our academic and clinical leaders and our external partners, regionally, nationally and globally. There are wide-ranging opportunities for personal development, and we welcome those with relevant experience not in a traditional academic setting.
We welcome informal enquires, which can be made to Darren Barton (d.barton@bham.ac.uk)
We value diversity and inclusion at the University of Birmingham and welcome applications from all sections of the community and are open to discussions around all forms of flexible working.
