Job description

Reporting to
Group Financial Controller / Director of Finance (or CFO, depending on scale)

Role Purpose

The Treasury Manager will design, implement, and run a robust cash flow reporting and forecasting capability for a regulated Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) business. The role's primary objective is to ensure clear, accurate, and forward‑looking visibility of cash, enabling strong liquidity management, confident decision‑making, and effective engagement with senior leadership, regulators, and external stakeholders. This is a hands‑on role with accountability for both building the capability and running it day‑to‑day, in an environment undergoing systems, data, and operating‑model change.

Key Accountabilities
  • Cash flow reporting & forecasting: Own the daily, weekly, monthly, and rolling 13‑week cash flow forecasts, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and transparency. Develop clear cash flow reporting packs for CFO, ExCo, and Board, with insight into drivers, risks, and sensitivities. Build scenario and stress‑testing models (e.g. downside cases, delayed receipts, cost timing shocks). Provide clear analysis of actuals vs forecast, explaining movements and emerging risks.
  • Liquidity & working capital management: Monitor and manage liquidity headroom, cash buffers, and short‑term funding needs. Analyse and actively manage working capital drivers (client receipts, payables, accruals, intercompany timing). Partner with AR, AP, and Finance Operations to improve cash predictability and discipline.
  • PaaS‑specific & regulatory context: Develop cash‑flow views that reflect PaaS revenue models (recurring fees, implementation fees, migration revenue, pass‑through costs). Support regulatory and governance requirements relating to client money, safeguarding, and cash segregation, where applicable. Provide transparent cash analysis to support regulatory engagement, audit, and internal assurance.
  • Systems, data & process development: Design cashflow models that integrate with core finance systems (D365, ERP, planning tools such as Anaplan). Improve data quality, controls, and automation across cash reporting processes. Document and embed standardised treasury and cashflow processes, controls, and ownership.
  • Stakeholder management & decision support: Act as the single point of truth for cashflow insight across the business. Partner closely with FP&A, Financial Control, Commercial Finance and senior leadership. Provide clear, concise explanations of cash dynamics to non‑treasury stakeholders.
Key Deliverables
  • A trusted, repeatable cashflow reporting framework used by senior leadership.
  • Rolling 13‑week cashflow forecast with scenario analysis.
  • Monthly board‑level cashflow and liquidity commentary.
  • Improved forecast accuracy and predictability.
  • Clear documentation of treasury processes, assumptions, and controls.
Required Experience & Background
  • Essential: Qualified accountant or treasury professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AMCT or equivalent). Strong experience in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and cash reporting. Experience within regulated environments (financial services, fintech, wealth, asset management, or PaaS). Proven ability to build cashflow models from first principles. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear commercial insight.
  • Desirable: Experience in PaaS, SaaS, or platform‑based business models. Exposure to finance transformation programmes (new ERP, planning tools, data redesign). Familiarity with multi‑entity, multi‑currency environments. Experience supporting board, audit committee or regulator‑facing reporting.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent cashflow modelling and forecasting capability.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to operate hands‑on while influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous, changing environments.
  • Clear communicator who can explain complex cash dynamics simply.
