A charitable organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a Treasurer to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure sound governance. The ideal candidate is a qualified finance professional with excellent communication skills, committed to the organization's mission. Responsibilities include overseeing budgets, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial sustainability. This position requires participation in Board meetings and strategic discussions, primarily conducted online.
More Education exists to enable, empower, facilitate, and support neurodivergent young people to achieve their full potential. Between 2025–27, we are focused on strengthening governance, building financial resilience, expanding our Community Hub, and laying the groundwork for an independent specialist school. Trustees play a critical role in helping us achieve these ambitions.
As Treasurer, you will provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation, ensuring sound governance, compliance, and sustainability. You will work closely with the Chair, CEO, and Finance Working Group to oversee budgeting, reporting, risk management, and the financial aspects of major initiatives such as the school project, HR reforms, and community programmes. You will help the Board understand complex financial matters, contribute to strategic decision-making, and champion strong financial practices across the organisation.

As we move towards the launch of a school, increased time commitment may be required over a period of several months but this will be communicated well in advance and made as flexible as possible. We understand that not everyone will meet every requirement listed, and we don’t expect you to. If you’re enthusiastic about our mission and believe you can contribute to our work, we’d be delighted to hear from you. We’re committed to supporting our trustees to learn and grow in the role.
If you\'re interested in applying please email Charlie Portlock, Chair of Trustees at charlie@moreeducation.co.uk to receive an application form. Deadline: 19th December 2025, interviews to commence in January 2026. For any questions or an informal chat about the role please contact Amy Hyde at AmyH@moreeducation.co.uk
We value diversity in all its forms and are committed to creating a neuro-affirming environment.
