First Light in Plymouth is seeking a Trauma Stabilisation Practitioner & Administrator. The role combines delivering a 12-session trauma stabilisation service and essential administrative duties in a hybrid work setting.

Support clients awaiting counselling, complete notes, manage caseloads, and use Oasis for data reporting. Full alignment with safeguarding, data accuracy, and flexible, confidential practice is required.

Qualifications

  • Has completed TSP training or is willing to complete at the earliest opportunity.
  • Experience of working with people who have been sexually abused.
  • Has good knowledge of Microsoft and other IT applications.
  • Experience of sound knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 12 Trauma Stabilisation sessions to 12 separate clients per week with accurate notes and admin.
  • Facilitate and deliver the Trauma Stabilisation Programme for clients within and outside the Criminal Justice process.
  • Regularly review the victim’s risk and needs with a trauma-informed approach to safety.
  • Undertake assessments on new referrals to understand service requirements.
  • Provide advice, support and guidance to people accessing the recovery pathway.
  • Maintain data integrity and prepare reports using the client management system and MS Office.

Trauma Stabilisation Practitioner

Base: Brunswick House, Cattedown Plymouth, with the option of hybrid working

Area Covered: Plymouth City

Salary: £25,954 (pro rata actual = £12,997) per annum rising to £26,364 (pro rata actual £13,182) per annum on successful completion of probation.

Hours: 18.75 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

The role of the Trauma Stabilisation Advisor & Administrator at First Light in Plymouth is to predominantly offer some clients psychoeducational support whilst they are waiting for counselling.

As a Trauma Stabilisation Advisor, this role will deliver an appointment-based Trauma Stabilisation service to already clinically assessed clients. The advisor will be using techniques which have been delivered through specialist TSP training and there is an expectation to deliver four trauma stabilisation sessions per day, and to complete all notes and admin connected with each case.

There is a requirement to be conscientious, meticulous and at all times act in a confidential manner. The Administrator should be highly motivated, flexible and able to work unsupervised. They must also be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and be able to create charts, filter and formulas in Excel using data from our client management system (Oasis).

Key responsibilities
  • To provide 12 Trauma Stabilisation sessions to 12 separate clients per week and keep accurate notes and admin around these sessions, within the boundaries of training and competence.
  • To facilitate, support and deliver of the Trauma Stabilisation Programme for clients who are within and outside of the Criminal Justice process seeking support
  • Continually assess and regularly review the victim’s risk and needs and use a Trauma informed Approach to keeping victims and their families safe
  • Undertake assessments on all new referrals to understand the service requirements for each client
  • Provide advice, support and guidance to people accessing the recovery pathway
  • Provide the continuity of support to all victims who have not been assigned further therapeutic support
  • Maintain data integrity and compile and prepare reports using our own Client Management System and its data reporting program. Also using Word, Excel and PowerPoint in accordance with reporting deadlines
  • Undertake specific administration duties related to the children and young people’s service, including electronic case and note management, client assessments and contracting, user feedback and provide statistical caseload information for quarterly service reports.
  • To undertake individual assessments and develop creative ways of working therapeutically with young people who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual violence, based on client need.
  • To consistently reach all KPIs for the service and assist the adult service in reaching theirs if possible.
